POINTS
TO WATCH FOR: A very similar Maxim-Vickers
Machinegun Spring Gauge was made circa 1917
by Chatillion Scale Co., a Colt subcontractor, destined
for Czarist Russia and the Maxim-Vickers MG then under
production in England. When the Czar was deposed,
many US-contracted items were embargoed, including
Remington and Westinghouse Mosin-Nagant rifles then
under production. The Chatillion
unit has split rings rather than string. Marked
RUSSIAN under a diamond containing
the letter "C". |
