(or How to Find What You Want When You Want It)

This website is both bigger and more complex than you might expect. Last time I looked, there were 524 web pages and 1,762 images.  Finding your way around, however, is fairly simple.

There is a blue button for each major section of the website. They are found at the top of every page. The blue buttons lead you to an INDEX (Table of Contents) for that particular section. Topics may be sub-divided into additional chapters, each with its own index.  Every page on this website can be found by using the blue buttons found on the top of every page.

All of the INDEX (Table of Contents) pages also have a ladder menu on the left side. The thirty or so links on this sidebar menu jumps directly to some of the most popular pages.

There is a CRUMB TRAIL at the top of every page.  It looks something like this: Home>Rifles>Regimental Enfields   The crumb trail reminds you where the page is and how you got there (Start at Home, click on Rifles, click on Regimental Enfields, etc.).

Last, but not least, every section is color coded. All the pages in that section have the same color palette.

Here's what's where:

Everything you need to know about oilers.  How to tell them apart, who made them, when and where, which oiler is correct for your rifle.
Anything rifle related is here.  Rifles are organized by who used them, such as a specific regiment, organized by country, as well as foreign governments.  We also try to provide some historical background to understand why a particular regiment was where it was when the rifle or bayonet was in service.
Tools for collectors, as well as armourers.  A glossary of Empire military terms and abbreviations, a bibliography of books and other sources of information that we rely on, internet links and sites, as well as info on some of the more nifty tools used with Enfield rifles.
From time to time I move out 'spares'.  Always willing to buy and/or trade if you have something interesting.
As the Codes & Marks in this section apply to virtually all Empire kit, this info is accessible from all menus in every section.  A guide to many of the common marks found on rifles, bayonets, oilers and other gear, along with some historical information on the country of origin.
Your starting point, as well as links to the latest updates.
