Enfield-Stuff Circular No.9 - March 2010
Greetings!
Thank you for signing up for our e-mail list. The Enfield-Stuff Circular is written for collectors of Enfield rifles and historians interested in British Empire/Commonwealth militaria related information. Subscribers to this newsletter will also have at least a week's advance notice of any rifles or bayonets that I have for sale. If you’d prefer not to receive notice of the Circular, simply click here UNSUBSCRIBE  and we'll get you off our mailing list tout-de-suite. (Pronounced "toot suite". That’s French for “immediately” and “right now”.

Sisyphus: Notes from Underground

If all goes well, this will be the last newsletter that you will see in this format. Long time subscribers will know that I've been muttering for some time about overhauling the website. And now the Guardians of the Internet at HotMail, Gmail and elsewhere are telling me that unless I Get With The Program and make some changes to my newsletter they'll issue a fatwa, call me a Spammer, and cast me forth into the Darkness. <chuckle> OK, so it was time to make some changes anyway. More . . .

Look for some major changes to the website very soon.  New content, better organized and searchable. Better graphics.  And webpages that will work on your computer, whether you're using Internet Explorer, Firefox, Mozilla or WhatEver.

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy what we have here. I had fun putting it together.

Your Comments & Suggestions are Welcome.

The Wolseley Helmet by Stuart Bates New books on Military Sun Helmets
Two new titles well worth looking at are now available from Service Publications.   The Wolseley Helmet In Pictures from Omdurman to El Alamein by Stuart Bates and Peter Sucio covers the history of this distinctively British style of tropical headgear while Military Sun Helmets of the World by Sucio and Bates is broader in scope. The Wolseley book, in particular, is an invaluable research tool if you're interested in the codes and marks associated with South Africa, India, Rhodesia and anyplace warm and sunny. (And there's even a Canadian version!)  Great pictures and interesting information - and perhaps a new direction to expand your collecting. A Dangerous Book.
